Donuts
On thursday the year seven and eight went to the high school. The year six students were left behind. So we went into the liberty to cook donuts. We were there to learn to cook and we were put into groups of three. My group was Me, Lily and Aimee
The first thing we did was read the in recipe so that the donuts would taste good then we got all of the ingredients out they were flour, sugar, baking powder, milk and egg. The flour was 1 and a ½cups. Then we did the sugar it was ½. The backing powder was half a teaspoon and one teaspoon. Next we combined it all together and made a well in the middle. Then we melted 9 tablespoons of butter and poured it into the center of the bowl and then we mixed it in Then we added some milk to it.
Next we heated up the donut maker up. The we spread it so they wouldn't burn the donuts. After that we pored doughnuts into the maker and waited for them to cook so that we could tack them out we had to use a plastic fork so that it would not damage the hot pease and burn them. We got brunt sometimes. It really hurt.
After that we got them out and then we put whipped cream on them. I really enjoyed the cooking It was so fun to learn how to do it.

Hollies Life Style
Hollies Life Style
It was World War 1. It was 28 July 1914, My name is Hollie Bell,This is my story. My family is Dave-Dad, Susan-Mum, and my cats name is Lola. She is very fluffy. My Dad went to the great war, And we were left behind.
So we had to knit socks for us to send away to him so we had to go to the shop and get wool with the ration book that we had It only let us get a little amount of everything. So after that we had to pull apart our Grandmothers old pants and knit them so that they would fit us. Then we had to hand wash our clothes in a bucket.
Then we went to the shop to buy some stuff with our ration book.
Mum was making tea. I heard someone knock on the door so I opened the door.It was the mailman and he gave me a card that was orange. I opened it. It said missing in action. So I gave it to mum and then she notsed that it was the wrong address and gave it back to the mailman The next day.
So then we had our dinner it was very yum. After dinner I went to bed. Then when I woke up in the morning all ready for another fun day of knitting for dad at the war.I was so excited to be learning new stitch today it will be so fun.
So I started to get up and get ready for some knitting. After I got ready I went to mum and said I am ready to learn the new stitch.Mum said ok then let's do it. When we finished doing it I got a parcel ready to sent off to the war to my dad.

Safe cycling
On Tuesday the 3rd constable Jos came and then in the afternoon constable Terry came to help. The first thing we did was we had a talk in the morning about bikes and bike helmets. Then Tasman bought her bike in and we looked at it, we learnt to check our tyres, brakes, spokes and check if the bolts are holding every thing on tight. Then we looked at her helmet to see if the polystyrene was cracked if it was then you would have to get a new one.
Then the next thing we did was go out onto the court and they were setting up a course that you had to look back and the put your right of left hand up so people new which way you were going. Then we were practicing to put our hand up for a stop sign so that people know that you are stopping soon because if you don't put you hand out they will think you are going straight ahead ahead and run over you. I learnt that hand signals are very important when you are out on the road so is looking back so you can see what is going on behind you as well
Then had some fun on our bikes. They made up a fun course that you had to follow so the first the was zig zag around the cones and that was all around then we went on to a plank thad you went up and it dropped down. Then there was another one but it was bigger than the other one you had to go on and the ladder it was to try and keep you from losing your balance. Then we did it around the road and we had to follow the parents. We had to do hand signals correctly. Then we did a slow race that we had to go as slow as we could.
We are learning to use simple sentences compound and complex .We need to have punctuation and beginning and the end . We also need commas and cheek our spelling. We need the correct tense.
Top team
Top team
On Wednesday the 5th some of the school went to top team. When we got to Paroa, Kamara was there as well. When we got there we got put into teams and my team started at activity 3. It was building the blocks up as high as you can. When the horn went you started and then when the horn went again you stopped. Our team won that game we had the highest tower. Then the lady sent us past both of the water games and to the next games.
When we did the conveyer belt that was very hard because it kept getting all tangled up in our feet. My favorite game was the gumboot throwing it got ones and twos sometimes I didn't even get it on the target. My team didn't even get to do the water games so we all tipped water on ourselves at the end. I learnt how to work together as a team.

A lady called Diana Queenin. came into the school to talk about fossils,Geodes, stingrays, horseshoe crabs and orcas. She showed us some sting rays tails they had little spikes the orcas target sting rays and they eat them. Then she talked about fossils and she showed us some rocks that had been cut open for her. One was just a yucky old rock but the she opened it and it some beautiful crystal she said that there is a big cave full of them, they are big enough for a man to walk on the ones that have fallen over.
Then she showed us another one in that rock there was like a jellyfish with a shell it was inside the rock. The next thing she showed us was a big horseshoe crab shell it had it legs left in the shell and three eyes and like a stinging tail but I don't know if they do sting. Then she showed us a dinosaur poo we got to hold it it didn't smell bad it just smelt like rock. Then she showed us some snakeskin and told us how they shed.

Science road show
Science roadshow
On Tuesday Room two went to the Science roadshow. We had to tack a pen. So we went in and they did a show for us it was about microscopes and they put a piece of paper under the microscope put a drop of water on top it made the writing look bigger. The microscope was a old fashion one.
When they had finished the show they let us walk around and do the experiments. There were all very good because you needed to read the instructions and some were very hard to do. On was when you pulled the sick and a ping pong ball went up into the air and it came back down and it went to the bottom like it was in a galaxy and then it sat at the bottom for the next person.
I learnt that Science is very fun you can use the things you have right now in your hand you can put little experiments. At the end the called up Jess and they put some powder at the bottom and then they put some water in it then it all bubbled up at it looked like a elephant.

Metaphor poem
Morgan
I am like a flexible as a bendy ruler.
I am as happy as a emoji pillow that keeps its emoji.
I am as brave as a lion singing.
I am as busy as a fish trying to get off the hook.
I am as quiet as a little kitten.
I am as nice as a little puppy barking.
I am like a ice block that won't mount.
My best friends are like too always smiling baby monkeys.
My Family is like one big school off fish.
My Family is a apply cut one side is all the fishing and hunting one the shopping.
I like a swimming stingray mixed with a eell.
I am like a pack off potatoes jiggling about.
I am as gentle as a feather floating in the air.

Carnival spirit
On the Carnival spirit the rooms are very tiny and some are called suites which are more luxurious they even have bathtubs with a shower at the top.On the boat there is a yellow slide and a green one.The yellow one is very slow the green is so fast and sucks you in. There is a little water park it has a big bucket that drops a hole lot of water on you is got 2 slides that have a pool of water at the end.
The food comes out on very big dishes like a big square plate with side dishes and a big middle piece . We have a huge selection of seafood such as lobster tail calamari prawns we eat at a place called the Empire room is is a fine dining restaurant. You can pick from so many menus. I liked the teas more than the rest. The food is also very fresh and warm. There is a games room you can play lots of games there is one where you have to cut the string with sharp claws. Maya won so many rubber ducks.
There is 10 decks the top deck it has free ice cream free food all the time and free popcorn and drinks. Mini put was very fun some of the holes you had to get it though a face as a rock. The table tennis had all colored bats and white ping pong balls the table had a net in the middle. It has one white seat and Maya and Eli were hitting the ball everywhere. The ice was cold and the air was strawberry chocolate vanilla. At the top deck there was always a party at night.
Then we went to Bob's house we went out for tea at Avoaca beach for fish and chips, there we played on the beach, We made sand castles, After tea we went home and we to bed we were so tired. The next day we got on another boat to palm beach Home and away set. Then we had lunch at the boathouse. When we came home we had a dinner party with some of Bob's friends. I am lucky to be a New Zealander Because
I am lucky to be a New Zealander
Because
I like living here because the education is very good and you learn lots of things to help you get a better job than what some people have.If you want a job have to work to get one.
Jobs are very hard to find you have to fill out an application. You have to be a very hard worker. To find the right job you have to choose something you like if you like something you should carry on.
Education is very good here when you should show up at school you may as well because art going to learn much sitting at home on the couch. Is alright to stay at home when you feeling well but come back to school as soon as you are better.
When I come to school every day I learn more and more then when I go home I share it with my mum and dad sometimes they don't know until I tell them. I like telling them what I learn at school.
In New Zealand you can go in a car to school or you can walk. Most other places you have to ether go across a lake in a washing tub or climb up the side of a cliff on wooden ladders or go on a zip line across the other to the nearest school and back.
